Manufacturers' Grading Reports

BUYERS BEWARE if you see an online diamond dealer or retailer advertising a Manufacturers' Grading Report, In House Certificates or Cutters Report.

These Manufacturers' Grading Reports, In House Certificates and Diamond Cutters reports are NOT Diamond Certificates. It is only an opinion.

It is not an independent grading report of a diamond and represents a conflict of interest between the diamond cutter and the vendor trying to sell to you.

An independent diamond certificate or grading report from an ACCREDITED institution must accompany the diamond at NO extra cost.

Always check the diamond has been COLD laser inscribed and not hot laser inscribed.

Ensure the certificate or grading report number is on the certificate or report and view the diamond's inscription is the same.

If the vendor is genuine request verification of the diamond's grade by sending the diamond to either HRD, GIA, AGS, G -Cal or DCLA
which is the only independent accredited diamond laboratory in Australia.

DCLA is an IDC International Diamond Council Laboratory in Australia.

DCLA will verify the diamond is the same diamond reported on the certificate.

DCLA will check your diamond has not been damaged by a hot laser inscription.

Diamond Certificates become void if the diamond has been laser inscribed after certification and damaged by a hot laser.

Unfortunately there are dealers who are using Manufatucturers' Grading Reports and Cutters Reports or their own In House Diamond Certificates to sell diamonds. These are not Independent Diamond Certificates and could be misrepresenting the diamond specifications.

If you are concerned or would like to verfity your diamond contact DCLA.

If the diamond you are considering is not certified by either DCLA, HRD, GIA, AGS or G-CAL you request the vendor to re-certify the diamond by one of these Diamond Grading Laboratories.

DCLA is the only accredited Diamond Grading Laboratory in Australia that grades and verifies diamonds according to International Diamond Council rules.
